At the center of our company’s purpose is a commitment to “protect and beautify the world.” Today, the word “protect” is taking on an even greater significance to all of us. We are focused on protecting our people and our customers. As One PPG family, we will continue to work with our community partners to provide support and deploy resources wherever possible, most recently donating a supply of 80,000 masks to hospitals in need.
In late March, we informed you of the temporary closure of the front doors of all US store locations to protect our team and minimize the spread of the virus. As the number of coronavirus cases across the US continues to rise, in order to do our due diligence in limiting the number of employees traveling to physical work locations, we will temporarily close 178 stores across the US. We are pleased to support our employees impacted by these closures with extended paid time off to bridge to unemployment benefits.
In making decisions regarding store closures, we ensured continued coverage across all regions and remain confident in our ability to service you. We are actively awaiting your next contactless pick-up or delivery order from your nearest open store location. Call-ahead orders are greatly encouraged. Contact your designated local representative or your nearest open PPG Paints store which you can locate here.
For pick-ups, upon arrival at the store, please call the phone number listed on the front door flyer. The in-store team will be happy to facilitate a contactless pick-up by loading your order into your vehicle. Where operations are continuing, store hours will remain the same for order pick-ups only (no store entrance permitted).
I encourage you to continue to work with our team of representatives to take advantage of live virtual meeting options and training on products and services that can help your business not only manage through these unprecedented times but excel.
We understand the essential role our products play in a wide range of important industries during this pandemic, and we are honored and proud to partner with our customers to create the products that people count on. Our paints, coatings and specialty materials help create life-critical products in health care, hospitals, defense, food and beverage, hygiene, agriculture, energy, public works, and information technology systems, as well as many others.
